Mid-Winter Encouragement

January 22nd, 2007 by Wellwrittenwords

It can sometimes be difficult to stay focused on business in the depths of winter when it’s cold and everyone seems more interested in staying warm than furthering their business interests. But spring is coming and we should all stay with it to ensure that business doesn’t die!

I’m partly encouraging myself here. I was disappointed to find that some leads I’d been counting on had gone cold while I was on a trip to London (I’m amazed at the sad state of Internet facilities in London hotels!). I’d just started scouting around for some more work when one of those leads resurfaced! If you take a look around online you’ll find that things are beginning to stir again after the poor level of activity over the past couple of months.

Stay prepared to be motivated! You will only be successful if you make the effort. As Woody Allen once said “90 percent of success is showing up!”

I’m glad to see that so many of you are in here, taking a look around. I’m in for a very busy time first few weeks of 2007, so I may not be able to achieve all that needs to be done right away. Please stay tuned for an expanded resources list and a lot more dialogue on what we can do to help ourselves as writers.
