I had the good fortune to edit a novel a while back. Called One World it is a tale of suspense and intrigue, centered around the work of a handful of SAS operatives, it casts light on some highly clandestine activity that some would doubt is even taking place.
If you’d like a really good read this winter, do get it. You will find your beliefs challenged though, so be warned.
I have a strong feeling that sooner or later this work will be made into a movie. The author George MacIver is a natural and I hope his first work will only be the first of many.
If you’re a freelance writer who runs a blog to showcase your work, you should be doing everything you can to get that blog noticed.
Are you registered with the biggest collection of blogs in the universe? Blogshares is not just that; it also happens to be the most fun you can have on the Internet. Be careful though–I’ve found it totally addictive (and I’m not that kind of person)–so I have to be tough with myself if I want to actually get any work done.
Everyone’s so friendly on Blogshares, and willing to share knowledge that it’s simple to link up with other writers, and even join communities or ‘corporations’ as they’re called in Blogshare Fantasy Land.
Apart from spending time on the Blogshares trading floor, you can join the forums for discussion, technical support, and to perfect your strategy. Don’t forget it’s just a game though!
In addition to creating some buzz about your blog, you can resort to Blogshares when the world is getting you down. You’ll feel better in no time. Go take a look at the About page to see what Blogshares is all about: but don’t blame me about what happens next.
Here’s a screenshot of a day’s trading, just to get you drooling (I know it’s too big but when I made it smaller it was impossible to read):
Continuing my theme of only learning from towering personalities, I’m putting up this superb video interview with David Ogilvy. If you’re planning a career in advertising, you couldn’t wish for a better insight into the business, and from someone who had a matchless reputation and track record. Enjoy.
I have been trying to get into this blog to post for weeks, but have had horrendous problems–I’ve been called a spammer and all sorts while trying to get into my own blog! The problem was eventually traced to a WordPress Plugin I was using to keep spammers at bay. Ironically it’s name is Bad Behavior. Not to worry, I deleted it and now we’re back in business. Now don’t panic if you happen to be using the same plugin on your blog: Only old versions of Bad Behavior do this.
Happy New Year to everyone: I sure hope that 2008 is going to be a lot better than 2007, which in retrospect fell far short of my expectations.
