Anyone Notice the Job Market Situation?
February 16th, 2007 by WellwrittenwordsI’m intrigued to know if everyone agrees with me: I’ve noticed that the standard of freelance writing jobs to be found online is not as good as it used to be. I know there are still some good jobs out there, but for heaven’s sake: There are just so many people trying to pay ridiculous amounts like $5.00 a page.
Does anyone really work for those amounts? As I’ve been saying all along, we have to stick together on this. If you have to respond to adds asking for work at appalling rates, at least tell them that you feel bad about working for such an amount, and they need to think about paying more.

I have also had it up to here, not only with those $5 per page prices, but also with the for bid sites who do not set or require opening bid minimums that the buyer must adhere to.
We think, act, and conduct ourselves as professionals, when we participate in such nonsense we actually add to the problem.

Yep, that’s why we’re here.
Glad you agree with us BJ!
